A visit with Pedro and Paco.

On 3 August 2026, during a visit to Spain, ResQVision co-founder Alex Piatek joined Pedro and Francisco Márquez Tavira, known as Paco, at the new camera in Chipiona. The visit connected the team’s coastal work in Australia with a particular place on the coast of Cádiz, and with the people helping develop the work locally.

Pedro and Paco are the Spanish-speaking contacts for anyone who wants to discuss a coastal site, a camera view or an initial evaluation with ResQVision.

A coastline shaped by the tide.

Chipiona’s coast brings together sandy beaches and a distinctive fishing heritage. Regla is an urban sandy beach with a promenade. Along the town’s shoreline, the traditional corrales de pesca are stone enclosures that fill and drain with the tide.

Those details matter when thinking about a camera. The waterline moves, the visible scene changes and people use different parts of the shore. The official Regla beach guide and Chipiona’s tourism office account of the fishing corrals give more context for the setting.

What carries across from Australia.

ResQVision’s work with the SAIL programme in New South Wales includes cameras observing rock platforms, software detecting relevant activity and an operator reviewing the information. Chipiona provides another coastal setting in which to assess a camera view and representative footage.

The useful questions stay practical: what can be seen clearly, which observations would help the local team, and who will review them? Camera position, target detail, lighting, tide and sea conditions all belong in that evaluation.

Our Spanish page introduces the platform and the initial camera assessment. Contact Pedro or Francisco (Paco) to tell us about your site, or explore the SAIL coastal operating example.
